This Privacy Policy describes how RihanAli (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use DotBox (the “app”), including when you download it from the Google Play Store. We publish this policy at a public URL and provide access to it from the app, as required by our platform and applicable rules.
Where the law requires it, we also show you in-app notices and consent choices before certain data is used (for example, for advertising in regions that require consent). Those screens are part of how we meet transparency and consent requirements; they work together with this policy, not instead of it.
Account and profile information: If you choose to sign in, we receive the name and email address supplied by your sign-in provider. If you play as a guest, we may create an anonymous profile that is not tied to your real-world identity in the app.
Game data: We process data needed to run the game—such as progress, statistics (for example wins, losses, draws), levels, rewards, and cosmetic choices. If you use a signed-in account, we may sync this data across your devices using our servers.
Online play: When you play online, we temporarily process match-related data (such as display names visible in the match, moves, and game state) to run the session. This information is removed after the match ends or after a short period if a session is abandoned.
Advertising and device-related data: Advertising helps support the app. Our advertising partners may collect or receive identifiers and technical or usage information from the app to deliver and measure ads, including for personalization where permitted. Depending on your region and your choices, ads may be limited, non-personalized, or not shown—see section 5.
We do not sell your personal information. “Sale” here has the meaning used in applicable privacy laws (exchanging personal information for money or other valuable consideration).
We share information with service providers that perform functions for us under instructions—for example: secure cloud hosting, authentication when you choose to sign in, delivery and measurement of advertisements, and infrastructure that supports online play. They may only use the information for those purposes and subject to confidentiality and security obligations.
We may also disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
Some data is stored on your device. Signed-in account and synced game data may be stored on servers operated by our providers, which may be located in countries other than yours.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption of data in transit where appropriate and limiting access to people who need it to operate the service.
Revenue from advertising helps us keep DotBox available and maintained. In regions where the law requires consent before certain advertising or related processing, we present a consent flow. If you do not consent in those regions, we do not show advertisements there, as required by those rules and our implementation.
Where consent is not legally required in the same way, we may show ads in line with platform settings and applicable law. You can also use your device or system advertising settings (for example, to reset or limit the use of advertising identifiers) where available.
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law. Online match data is short-lived as described above. Account and synced game data are kept while your account is active unless you ask us to delete them. After deletion, residual copies may persist for a limited time in backups before being overwritten.
DotBox is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps, including deletion where required.
If you create an account in the app, you may request deletion of your account and associated personal data:
Deleting your account removes or anonymizes personal data tied to that account on our systems, except where we must retain limited information for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance, as explained to you where applicable.
Signing out alone does not delete data held on our servers for a signed-in account; use the deletion steps above if you want your account data removed.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. To exercise rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond as required by applicable law.
If you use the app from outside your home country, your information may be processed in countries with different data protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice as required by law or through the app.
RihanAli is the data controller for DotBox for the purposes described in this policy, unless otherwise stated in your jurisdiction.
